DYNACITY Project kicks off in Patras, Greece

The official kick-off meeting of the DynaCITY project brought together the consortium partners in Patras, Greece, on 27–28 May 2026, marking the start of the project’s collaborative implementation phase. Hosted by the University of Patras, the meeting provided the opportunity to align on the project’s strategic direction, establish the coordination framework for the months ahead, and connect the different technical, pilot and methodological activities from the outset. Partners reviewed the project objectives, management structure, ethics considerations, KPIs and the key responsibilities across the different Work Packages, creating a common foundation for coordinated implementation.

A central focus of the meeting was the connection between DynaCITY’s technical development and its five pilot environments in Lund, Heidelberg, Funchal, Menton and Beirut. Pilot partners presented their initial scope, available data, existing tools, baselines, integration potential and key challenges, while the consortium explored how user requirements, system architecture, data frameworks, SSH methodologies and other project components will come together to support real-world implementation. The discussions helped clarify the interdependencies between the different areas of work and set the basis for the project’s next phase, with partners leaving Patras aligned on the immediate priorities and shared commitment to advancing DynaCITY across its diverse urban contexts.
